From the Material to the Component

Our materials can be used in the form of UD‑Tapes for various processing technologies. On one hand, they can be used efficiently to reinforce injection molded components as so-called inserts. This is a simple way of significantly improving the mechanical properties of such components. On the other hand, they can also be processed directly into rotationally symmetric or flat components using special manufacturing processes such as winding or pressing. The best material utilization can be achieved if the fiber orientation of the UD‑Tapes is matched to the stresses of the component. Depending on the application and given boundary conditions, we can advise you on how to exploit the maximum potential of these materials in your application. We define ourselves by the following properties:

Manufacturing of cutouts from unidirectional fibre-reinforced composites
Measuring of a component
Winding of a fibre-reinforced composite
Manufacturing of a tension-/compression-torsion test specimen
  • We Provide an Overview
Whether winding, pressing or injection molding inserts, we advise you holistically on how you can use UD‑Tapes efficiently in your application. We are not limited to one technology, but can cover all common component manufacturing processes together with our partners.
  • We Know Our Materials
Due to the melting of the UD tape during component manufacturing, the respective process has a significant influence on the material properties of the resulting material. In the case of semi-crystalline thermoplastics, for example, the cooling curve of the plastic is decisive for its mechanical properties. As we know our own materials best, we take these effects into account when designing components and thus establish an effective feedback loop between these influencing parameters and the design.
  • We Offer Everything from a Single Source
We are convinced that the potential of fiber-reinforced plastic composites can only be fully exploited by mapping the entire value chain from material to component production. We therefore see ourselves as a systems supplier for components made from continuous fiber-reinforced thermoplastics.
